How to Ride

Destination display

Destination

Nagasaki buses display destination and transfer stops on the front and sides. Please check the destination signs before boarding.
Travelers can identify major tourist destinations by the route number or the stop signs at the top.

Entrance / Exit

The entrance is in the center of the vehicle (rear for some models), and the exit is at the front next to the driver's seat. Please pay the fare into the farebox when alighting.

How to get on and off the bus

    Getting on the bus

    Check the destination displayed on the bus and board from the rear door.

    IC card

    Hold your card to the IC reader until it beeps.

    Cash / One-day pass

    Take a numbered ticket from the tick- et-issuing machine.

    On the bus

    Please be seated quietly and do not put your face or hands out of the windows on the bus. If you cannot find a seat, hold onto a pole or a strap near you.

    Before getting off the bus

    When your stop appears on the display above the driver’s seat and hear it announced, push any stop button near you and alert the driver.

    NOTE: The bus may skip a bus stop unless you push the stop button.

    If you are standing while the bus is moving, please hold on to the pole or strap.

    Checking the fare

    Check the fare display at the front of the bus and your numbered ticket. If paying by cash, please prepare the exact amount. ¥1000 bills and coins can be broken at the change machine.

    Paying fares
    IC card

    Hold your card to the IC reader next to the fare box, and the fare will be automatically charged to your card.

    Cash

    Put the exact fare and the numbered ticket together in the fare box.

    One-day pass

    Show the pass to the driver.

    Getting off the bus

    Please exit the bus from the front door. Be aware of pedestrians and cyclists on the sidewalk.

CAUTION
  • If your child is an elementary pupil (ages 6-12), please inform the driver before paying.
  • There will be no change to be returned by the fare box.
  • The change machine accepts 1000-yen bills and 500-, 100-, and 50-yen coins. Larger bills can’t be used.
